The Women's Network for Rights and Peace (RFDP) is an NGO founded in 1999 in Bukavu, South Kivu, Democratic Republic of Congo.
Since its creation, RFDP has worked to defend women's rights and promote peace and justice in communities affected by armed conflict.
Our holistic approach combines legal assistance, community mediation and economic empowerment to create lasting change.

Education on Rights
- Functional literacy centers on rights
- Legal talks (information sessions on national and international laws based on the needs and problems experienced by communities)
- Systematic training sessions
- Radio broadcasts on human rights and violence against women
Documentation and Denunciation of Human Rights Violations
- Publication of a periodic denunciation bulletin
- Production of human rights reports
Peacebuilding and Violence Reduction
- Mediation actions
- Bimonthly visits to women detained at Bukavu Central Prison and other detention facilities since 2000
- Ongoing follow-up of case files for women detained in these facilities, including Bukavu Central Prison
- Legal assistance provided to vulnerable people through the provision of lawyers
Strengthening Women's Leadership
- Access to credit within the Solidarity Mutuals
- Proposals for laws and/or amendments to laws under discussion, addressing women's needs
- National-level advocacy for gender inclusion in laws under discussion in Parliament
Psychosocial Support
Through the Community Psychosocial Approach (CPA).
